Have you ever had the balls to quit your job, move to a new city, and see if you could “make it”? That is precisely what Meiko did a little over a year ago as she went from waiting tables to headlining her first tour. Bottom line: I’m glad I saw the show and I would recommend catching them before it comes to an end on June 7th. I went to see Kevin Devine and the Goddamn Band, but I have to admit that I was impressed with both The Miniature Tigers and Kevin Devine. The best part about the whole experience was I saw some amazing bands for less than a 20-spot. Bacon…it’s what’s for dinner? Well, tonight it was. I picked up a chicken roaster the other week from the grocery store and had it sitting in the freezer. Wanting to do something a little different, I made another trip to the grocery store for some inspiration. I have to admit, chicken is a tasteless meat. It can be rubbery if overcooked, and a health hazard if not done enough. Nonetheless, the quest to flavor chicken with something that will make it taste like anything is a challenge for me. Anyone who knows me would tell you that I’m not much of a dessert person. Sometimes I’ll jump into a pint of ice cream, but more often than not, I’ll just pass. Walking in Belltown the other day, I noticed a new cupcake shop was open for business. After passing it so many times while they were redecorating the interior, curiosity got the best of me, so I thought I would stop in and see what people were waiting in line for. Here’s the problem…I have a huge iTunes library (18,142 items, 51.6 days, 103.72 GB). I’ve been looking for an easy solution to bring some consistency to my music collection. There are times when I would start a project of going through the collection album by album and artist by artist making sure that I had the correct information and artwork. On a library that size, it could take weeks, even months. Before I get into the actual review, know this…I am “old school” when it comes to buying music. I like going into CD stores and buying a physical copy of an album. Sometimes I find it cheaper in a store than I do on iTunes. Well that, and I don’t trust the ID3 info from iTunes. |
